Move forward faster—therapy intensives now available in Carlsbad, CA.
Therapy is an investment in your long-term well-being. I offer in-person therapy in Carlsbad, CA, with flexible session options to meet your goals and support your healing process. Whether you’re looking for weekly support or focused intensive therapy, we’ll choose a format that fits your needs and lifestyle.
50-Minute Sessions – $200
Format: Weekly
Best for clients who:
Why choose this option:
This is the classic weekly therapy format:, a steady, supportive rhythm for insight-building, emotional processing, and navigating life’s challenges. Many clients use this time to gradually work through anxiety, relational struggles, or past experiences. If you value consistency and a reliable weekly structure, 50-minute sessions provide a grounded path for growth. We’ll use approaches tailored to your needs, whether that’s talk therapy, skill-building, or trauma-focused work.
100-Minute Sessions – $350
Format: Weekly or Every-Other-Week
Best for clients who:
Why choose this option:
Many clients (and I!) love the flow of these extended sessions, which allow for more depth, momentum, and integration. They’re especially useful for trauma-focused therapies like EMDR and Brainspotting, where having extra time can be key. This option also works well for busy clients who prefer meeting every other week while still maintaining consistent progress. Priced intentionally below two 50-minute sessions, it’s a value-driven way to go deeper with more flexibility.
Therapy Intensives – $850
Format: Half-Day (One 50-minute planning session + one 3-hour intensive with breaks). Customizable multi-day formats also available.
Best for clients who:
Why choose this option:
Therapy intensives condense months (or years) of therapy into a focused, immersive format. Each half-day intensive includes a 50-minute planning session (in-person or via telehealth) and a 3-hour in-person session at my Carlsbad office. Intensives may include EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic work, or resourcing techniques, always tailored to your needs and comfort level. This format is especially effective for moving through trauma, shifting stuck patterns, or gaining clarity and relief when weekly sessions don’t feel like quite enough. Offered on select Wednesday and Friday mornings, intensives can be booked as a one-time reset, designed into a retreat, integrated into ongoing therapy, or used as adjunct support with your current therapist. Therapy is most effective when sessions are consistent, especially at the beginning, when we’re building trust, momentum, and emotional awareness.
For both teen and adult clients, I start you with one of the following formats:
These options provide enough continuity for meaningful progress without overwhelming busy schedules. The extended 100-minute format allows for deeper, more focused work and often proves more efficient overall, since we can cover more ground in each session.
New Client Policy: I don’t offer every-other-week 50-minute sessions or once-per-month sessions for new clients. With longer gaps between appointments, it becomes difficult to maintain therapeutic momentum and progress can feel fragmented. Once steady progress has been made, some clients later transition to less frequent or shorter sessions as appropriate.
I offer in-person appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at my Carlsbad office.
Session times vary by day and generally fall between 10 AM and 7:40 PM, with daytime (10 AM – 2 PM) and afternoon/evening (2 PM – 7:40 PM) options available.
Appointments that begin between 4 PM and 7 PM are considered prime spots. These are in high demand and reserved for clients who can maintain consistent attendance. Because of limited availability, if a client’s attendance becomes inconsistent, such as frequent cancellations, their prime-time slot may be offered to someone on my waiting list. In that case, we would look for an earlier daytime opening or move the client to as-needed scheduling if preferred.
Wednesdays and Fridays are reserved for half-day therapy intensives, a focused, extended-format option for clients seeking deeper or accelerated progress.
During our free 15-minute consultation call, I’ll share my current openings and help you find a time and session format that best fit your goals and availability.
Payment is processed automatically after each session using a debit, credit, or HSA/FSA card. A card is kept securely on file through my encrypted client portal, and most charges are processed the evening of your appointment.
You're welcome to use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Many clients also take advantage of out-of-network insurance benefits for potential reimbursement (see above for details).
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee. I do keep a few flexible spots open each week and will always try to accommodate changes when possible—just reach out as soon as you can.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The length of therapy depends on what you’re working through, how long it’s been affecting you, and what kind of support you have outside of therapy.
Some clients come in with a clear goal and start feeling relief within a few sessions, especially when using EMDR or Brainspotting to target specific traumas or stuck emotional patterns. Others stay longer to explore deeper issues, process complex histories, or navigate life transitions with ongoing support.
Most clients begin with weekly 50-minute sessions to build trust and momentum, however my clients tend to prefer weekly or biweekly 100-minute sessions as it allows for deeper work. I also offer Therapy Intensives for clients looking to go make a significant amount of progress in a shorter timeframe. This focused, high-impact format is especially helpful when you feel stuck or want to accelerate progress without the stop-start of weekly therapy.
Therapy is collaborative and flexible. We’ll tailor the format, pace, and goals to meet your needs and check in regularly to adjust along the way. There’s no pressure to follow a fixed path, just a shared commitment to supporting meaningful, lasting change on your terms.
I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means I’m not in-network with insurance—but many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement through their PPO plan.
If you have out-of-network benefits, you’ll pay the session fee at the time of service, and I’ll provide a Superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance. I also partner with a free platform called Thrizer, which can submit superbills directly to your insurance company to help streamline the process.
To check your coverage, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
Many of my clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Cigna PPO have had success getting reimbursed.
Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected costs of your care if you’re not using insurance or don’t have insurance coverage.
This estimate provides a clear breakdown of anticipated costs for non-emergency services, including therapy sessions. If it’s not included with your intake paperwork, feel free to ask—I'm happy to make it easy to access. You can also request an updated estimate at any time.
If you receive a bill that’s $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge. I recommend keeping a copy of your estimate for your records.
