The past affects the present even without our being aware of it. EMDR therapy helps break that link.

EMDR Therapy INTENSIVES in Carlsbad, CA

EMDR INTENSIVES IN CARLSBAD, CA

Accelerated healing for busy people who are ready to move forward.

If you've been carrying the weight of a difficult experience, trauma, or persistent anxiety—and you're ready to address it without spending years in therapy—EMDR Intensives may be a good fit for you.

Designed for high-functioning, time-conscious clients, these extended sessions allow us to work deeply and efficiently so you can experience meaningful relief, faster.

EMDR Intensives

What Is an EMDR Intensive?

EMDR Intensives are structured, short-term therapy tracks that use extended 100-minute sessions to help you process and resolve distressing memories and patterns at the nervous system level.

Unlike traditional weekly sessions, intensives allow us to maintain momentum and make faster progress—without stopping mid-process.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a research-backed therapy used to reduce the emotional impact of trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs by helping the brain reprocess unhelpful patterns and store them in a more adaptive way.

Who It’s For

This approach may be right for you if:

  • You’re high-functioning, but know something unresolved is holding you back
  • You’ve tried talk therapy, but want something more focused and effective
  • You’re ready to dive in and do meaningful work in a condensed time frame
  • You don’t have the bandwidth for open-ended weekly therapy

What’s Included

  • Free Consultation: A 15-minute phone call to determine fit and answer questions
  • Structured Track: A co-created plan—typically a series of 6 to 12 focused sessions, each 100 minutes long. Sessions may be scheduled once or twice per week, depending on your needs and goals
  • Grounding & Prep Tools: Support between sessions to help you feel stable and integrated
  • Flexible Approach: If needed, we can blend EMDR with Brainspotting or other modalities

Therapy Intensives

A focused, high-impact option for clients ready to dive deep. Intensives offer an immersive alternative to weekly therapy, ideal if you're feeling stuck, short on time, or want faster momentum.
Each half-day intensive includes:
• One 50-minute intake + planning session (scheduled separately)
• One 3-hour in-person therapy session (with short breaks for regulation and comfort)

We may incorporate EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic work, and resourcing, always customized to your goals and what feels most supportive. Intensives are especially effective for processing trauma, shifting entrenched patterns, or navigating transitions when shorter sessions aren’t quite enough. Available to existing clients or as adjunct support for those already working with another therapist or visiting from out of town.➝ Learn more about Therapy Intensives

Why It Works

EMDR helps your brain resolve stuck patterns by stimulating the brain’s natural processing system through bilateral stimulation—using a light bar or alternating headphones. Combined with extended session time, this allows us to:

  • Access and reprocess emotional material more thoroughly
  • Reduce distress around painful memories or patterns
  • Help you leave each session feeling clearer, lighter, and more grounded

Many clients feel a strong sense of resolution after completing their intensive. Others choose to continue with weekly 50- or 100-minute sessions to support integration or continue building on their progress.

Ready to Start?

EMDR Intensives are a great fit for clients who want focused, results-oriented therapy with room to breathe. I offer these sessions in my private Carlsbad office, where you’ll have the time and space to do meaningful work without distractions.
